Each game consists of 2 versus 2 players at one Beer Pong table.
Each player gets one can of beer per game.
Each team starts with 10 cups.
Each team plays two random matches. The best eight teams qualify for the knockout stage.
Group-stage rankings are determined by wins, time needed to win, and cups hit, in that order. Referees measure match duration.
Each match has a 15-minute time limit. If neither team has eliminated all cups after 15 minutes, the team with more cups at that moment wins.
If the teams are tied, the next team to hit a cup wins the game.
A player's elbow must remain behind the edge of the table while throwing.
If the ball bounces on the table before entering a cup, two cups must be removed and the corresponding drinks taken. The throwing team does not receive the balls back.
Defending players may hit away bouncing balls.
Blowing balls out of cups is not allowed.
If a thrown ball returns across the table's midline and is caught by the throwing team, that team receives one trick shot. During a trick shot:
If a team hits the same cup twice during one round:
The cups on the table contain water. When a team's cup is hit, that team must drink from its beer can and remove the cup.
Each team may rearrange its cups once per match.
During the first phase (group stage), an opponent's final cup only counts as eliminated if both players on the attacking team have finished their beers. This restriction does not apply during the knockout stage.
The referee has the final decision in all disputes. Mocking or disrespectful behavior may be punished, including immediate disqualification.
Ranking (official format): Wins — most wins ranks highest → Time needed to win — lower total time of the won matches ranks higher (skipped when both teams have no win) → Cups hit — more successful hits ranks higher (cups hit, not cups removed). Each tournament page shows its exact settings.
Five players compete against five players. Each player starts with one 0.5 L beer can.
The team that finishes all its beers first wins.
The ball must be thrown below hip height. Rolling or bowling is not allowed.
The throwing order remains unchanged throughout the match.
Every eligible player throws once per round.
Drinking is permitted only when the middle bottle has been hit and knocked over. Players may not touch their cans beforehand.
Drinking must stop immediately when the referee calls "Stop."
A player who believes their beer is empty must hand the can to the referee. The referee decides whether it counts as completely finished.
A player whose beer can is knocked over receives a penalty beer.
Players who have finished their beer may no longer throw or run. Exception: The second-to-last player remains active as a runner.
If a player's beer foams over, they drink too early, or they continue drinking too long, they must skip drinking the next time their team successfully hits the bottle.
After the middle bottle is hit, one player retrieves the ball and another sets the bottle upright.
Teams may change or retain their runners each round.
Players may only begin running after the opposing team has hit the middle bottle.
Disrespectful or aggressive behavior toward the referee results in immediate disqualification of the entire team.
The Flunkyball rules define no tournament format or tiebreakers. Each tournament chooses its format (two random matches, groups, or single elimination); standings rank by wins, then the tournament’s chosen tiebreak.
